Friday Favorite #10 | Halloween Special

Hello all, and HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Today's post is the last of My perfect Halloween week, and i thought i would top it off with a Friday Favorite special.

I tried to make this as related as i could to Halloween, so my favorite is Toffee apples! Of course, in some way, shape or form i had to include these amazing things in this week.

You can get Toffee apples from many supermarkets, and normal shops, but they are mostly eaten round Halloween time because these times fall in the wake of the annual apple harvest, and we can all use that as an excuse to have one of these!

I usually buy mine from a local shop, and i always like to go with the traditional `toffee` but there are other flavors like chocolate.

I also found out that you can make them homemade too, which i think would be so much fun, so here's a recipe that you can check out, and even try: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/13599/homemade-toffee-apples
(Remember if you decide to make them, always use granny smith apples (green apples) so its got that extra bitterness to go with the sweetness of the toffee).

Not only this, but apple everything is the food to have this Autumn. Another would be Pumpkin: pie, latte, cake... YUM!

That is the end of the FF Halloween special, so i hope you enjoyed reading through it, and try out these toffee apples, because they are...words cannot describe! This is also my last post for the Halloween week (MPH), i really found this fun to do, and remember to look out for more of these specials in the future.

My Perfect Halloween | Zombie School Girl Hair + Outift

Hello all and welcome to my Halloween hair and outfit tutorial. I chose a zombie one, because its a fun one to do, plus I've done this before and i love it! I thought i would do an outfit with it too, so they you can be fully equipped ready for trick or treating or that Halloween party!

I'm going to get right into the post starting with the hair, so i hope you enjoy, and remember...only one day till Halloween!

First you want to make sure all of your hair is done and brushed well. Get it however straight it can be so your hair won't get AS knotty.

Then all you'll need is a comb or a brush, and backcomb your hair. Start on the outside of your hair, and gradually get tot he inside.

When you've finished that, you can use hair mousse or hair spray and just spray it all over your hair!

This is a fun little extra thing i like to do, and it makes it look an extra bit OUT there, all you'll need is some hair pastels or a black chalky spray, and just spray/colour your hair with that. Its so fun to do, and can really make you look that extra bit `zombie-fied`!

Now onto the outfit, so with the Zombie School Girl you can get really creative with it all, but i'm going to give you a brief outline on what you need to do to achieve the goal; in the simplest way possible.

What you need:

  • Red marker pen or Red paint
  • Old school top/old shirt
  • Black, blue or grey jeans/Black skirt
  • Scissors
  • Tie
  • School shoes/black pumps
First you want to get the shirt/school top and rip some holes in it. I also found you can get the bottom of the top and cut it there, so it looks raggedy and ripped!

Then you want to get your choice of redness and put it all over the top, therefore showing `blood stains`, you want to do this for the choice of pants/skirt too.

You can also use some accessorize, like loads of wristbands, and i have a perfect necklace which has a cross on it, so its really up to you!

Then for shoes, wear any old black shoes, it would be even better with black boots, for a more grunge approach.

In the pictures you can see i used two different ways of wearing it, both are quite similar but you can always have the shirt fully out, or whatever you like! I also used my old school belt and tied it round my neck, but you can always use a choker instead.

I hope you liked reading this quick and easy HowTo Halloween costume, and yes...its HALLOWEEN tomorrow, i'm so damn excited!

My Perfect Halloween | 5 Movies You Must Watch

Hello all and we're on the third day of my Halloween week, that means there's only two days till
Halloween! Today's post is one that i'm personally an expert in, i am a movie expert (kind of). So i'm not your kind of stereotypical horror lover, but i do watch the odd horror, but i like to vary in my choices in films, so i'll share the 5 of my most favorite movies you must watch!

**SPOILER ALERTS**

1. Hunger Games - Catching Fire:

This movie is just SO good, and everyone knows it.  I read all the books, and the movie did live up to the books in my opinion, and the casting for both two movies are great! In Catching Fire, Peeta & Katniss go on the tour round the districts after winning the previous Hunger Games. Finishing that, the Capital (President Snow) announces that only previous winners of the Hunger Games will have to compete in the "75th Annual Hunger Games" - Peeta & Katniss end up in the games again, but (like always) it doesn't go to plan. I cannot wait until Mokingjay part 1 comes out, that is something i'm going to have to watch!

2. We're The Millers:

This has got to be one of the funniest movies i've ever watched, and if you've watched it, you will understand what i mean. Will Poulter plays the part of Kenny, and he just makes the film. It starts when `The dad` (drug dealer) is going to be given $100,000 if  he travels to Mexico to transport a shipment of cannibis across the American border. In order to avoid any suspicion from customs he disguises himself as a family man, recruiting stripper Rose to play his wife, homeless youth Casey as his daughter and nerdy neighbor Kenny as his son. The situation soon gets out of hand and they find their lives are at risk when they realize the marijuana they took actually belongs to a powerful Mexican drug boss.

3. Insidious Chapter 2:

This is one of the, probably two, horror movies I've watched in my life so far, and when i watched this one with my friend and it's more freaky then scary, if you know what i mean. Of course it doesn't change my perspective of horror movies, but i can survive this...JUST! It all starts with a happy family with their three young children. When tragedy strikes their young son, Josh and Renai begin to experience things that science cannot explain. I think this one is good for Halloween night, but if you don't like blood, gore or lots of deaths, then this horror should be good for you, still i'm not that interested in this genre, i usually on watch them when with friends!

4. Scary Movie:

Now for both (kind of) horror and comedy, and personally this is one of the funniest movies  have every witnessed. Even though it was made in 2000 and the graphics look somewhat dodgy sometimes, it is still written great and funny! The Scary Movie saga is all based on other scary movies, but in a comedic way/almost takes the mick out of them. This one in particular focuses on the movies: I know what you did last summer, Scream 3, The matrix, Titanic & more. The movie  follows what happens when a group of none-too-bright teenagers are stalked by a masked killer who wants them dead because of their involvement in a car accident that happened last Halloween. The kids are also being stalked by a television news reporter determined to get the story. One by one, the young friends are dispatched in a grisly and ridiculous fashion....

5.  Not Another Teen Movie:

Your probably are thinking "Enough of comedy, is that all you watch?" and you may be right, but give me a chance. So this is another comedy that i love, and i always like a good laugh, and that's why i watch so many of these movies. This is another mickey take of a stereotypical "Teen Movie", and it's just amazing. When he is dumped by his girlfriend, popular football star Jake takes on a wager in which he is charged with transforming freaky-geeky art student Janey into a prom queen. After receiving an initially frosty reception, Jake begins to spend time with Janey, and the pair develop strong feelings for each other. But what will happen when she finds out about the wager? It's from the writers of "Scary Movie", so you can see why i'm so intrigued by this film.

This is the end to my movie post, so i hope you enjoyed reading through my third Halloween post. Even though it may not seem like this is Halloween themed, i think that Halloween is (sometimes) about back-to-back movie watching, including horror...and comedy in my opinion!

My Perfect Halloween | Trick Or Treat?

Hello all, and what's Halloween without...SWEETS! I was wondering about what this post should be about, but who doesn't love a good treat at Halloween time? In this post i'm going to be doing my top 5 snacks for Halloween time!

My first treat is bonfire toffee (even though it's not bonfire night yet, i can still enjoy it)! It has this amazing taste, and round this time of the year, i always indulge in this yummy snack, it's a tradition in my family.
It is a perfect sweet for late night movie watching, or when you out and about etc.

My second favorite treat is a more of a `healthier` treat, but can still fix the sweet tooth. It is dried fruit, and you can get them from almost every supermarket, and in my packet i got dried pear, prune, fig & some others depending on what type you get! I also got some dried mango which you can buy separately, and i LOVE dried mango and if you haven't tried it yet, do!

Now for the third is a bit more `creative` if you want, but is still quite easy to make. All you need to do is get two spoonfuls of yogurt (i chose greek) and put it into an ice tray (i chose love heart ones) and put it in the freezer for about 2 hours. When you take it out, put some fruit with it, or granola or honey! Its a bit more filling than the above treats too.

Now for a bit of a savory snack which i think are just so cute, i especially love wrapping for each one, it's so unique because it has this newspaper theme to it. Even though they are extremely salty and have a strong vinegar taste, they are still super yummy!

Lastly i had to choose these good ol' butter candies, because i get so obsessed over them, they are just the taste of heaven.  I got the sugar free ones, but they taste exactly the same to the normal ones! Plus, me and my friends buy them all the time, talk about a guilty pleasure!

I hope you enjoyed this, and are looking forward to going Trick or treating and getting some treats or staying up late, watching movies with family or friends, because i am! While your at it, have a taste of the snacks above, you'll love them.

My Perfect Halloween | A Dark Makeup Tutorial

Hello all, welcome to my first "My Perfect Halloween" post. I have came to the decision that i'm going to be doing a blog post every day this week, leading up to Halloween (all weekdays) so BE PREPARED!

I adore Halloween, and even if it isn't one of the biggest celebrations we have here in the UK, we might as well celebrate it! In this blog post, i'm going to be doing a Halloween inspired look, just to clarify i am no makeup artist in any way shape or form. Personally, i know that i'm am no where near a professional at makeup, but its just a hobby and i enjoy it, so that's why i do it! Now that's over and done with, lets get on with the look!

I tried to make it dark and spooky, with hints of Autumnal colours within it, so hope you like it!

First, you want to start off with a base, I chose the "Max Factor X Foundation in 50/Neutral" and i used a sample i got in the magazine, just to try it out. I used my Body Shop Face & Body brush to blend it in, but i recommend you use a foundation brush.

Next, i wanted to make a base for my eye shadow, so i used the "Maybelline 24 Hours Colour Tattoo 70- Metallic Pomegranate". This just helps to add some darker hints to the eye and the purple makes it feel morer `halloweeny', and it also adds a hint of glitter. I applied it with my index finger, but you can always use a brush, You want to make sure that you cover your whole eyelid too.

After when i had the base, i used my "Naked Nudes" eyeshadow palette to create a more dramatic effect with the eyes. Firstly i used the darkest colour and just placed it all over my eyes, up to my brow bone. Then i used the same colour and underneath my eyes slightly. If you want you can add some of a white or cream colour to the inner part of your eyes!

Next you get some black eyeliner, preferably a pencil, and just do a thin line across your eyelid and carry it on to underneath your eye, but only half-way. I used the "Model CO - Black 01", this creates a more of a smoky eyed effect.
Then i used my "Maybelline New York- the Colossal Go Extreme! Volum' Mascara" on my eyelashes, bottom and top!

This is an optional step but this just adds a 'weird' glow to your face, which fits in with Halloween greatly! I chose the "Clarins Bronzing duo - 10 Bright Sun", even though i wouldn't use this bronzer normally, because it is a bit too dark for my skin colour, but i love the way it adds this spooky look. I just used my blush brush and used both of the shades on my cheekbone and lower jaw.

Lastly, i wanted the lips to match with the glow i had on my face, so i chose this "Revlon Lip Glide- Glaze Almond 09"and this just went perfectly. It is a nice dark colour, and adds an extra glossyness to your lips.

This is the end of my first Halloween post of the halloween week, and i can't wait till tomorrow, i really hope you enjoyed reading this post and i know i'm not the best at makeup, but i'm happy with how it turned out!

Friday Favorite #9

Hello all, and guess what, the next Friday Favorite will be my Halloween special!

Today's FF is an autumn/winter favorite, and I've been waiting to do one of these, and boots have got to be one of the statements for Autumn time.

I got these boots a couple of weeks ago for a party from New Look and i instantly fell in love with them. Even though i was looking for a larger boot, these are actually just as good, and look even better!

I got them for £29.99, and they are such a good buy, and are so comfy to wear!

They are perfect for walking around, and have a rustic style to them, which is a style i love and will be wearing a lot this this Winter.

They can also be worn as a more formal statement with a dress, which i love because i don't invest in that many shoes, so i can wear these all the time (which is suitable for me). They have a buckle on the side, and fur, this is only an accessory but i love these little things!

So this is the end to another Friday Favorite and my next post will be with the Halloween week i'm doing.

My First ... Coffee Experience

Hello all, today i have less of a fashion, beauty post but a lifestyle one (for a change!) I'm thinking maybe a once a month thing i do, maybe a "My First" series or something, i'm just brain storming here, anyway...

Not long ago, i had my first (kind of) coffee, and I've got to admit...i loved it! I guess i'll give it a bit of a back story about how i had my first one...

I was in Morrison's looking for something to fill me up, when i came across some cold latte's (coffee's). These usually wouldn't appeal to me, but for some odd reason i though "why not?"

The first one i ever got was the "Starbucks Caramel Macchiato". This one stood out because of the Caramel within it, this was so i didn't get the full on taste of coffee.

At first, when i drank it i thought it was an odd taste, but as i had more and more of it, i began to warm up to it and i got stronger taste of the Caramel,

After having one of the "Starbucks Cold Beverages", i felt the need to try all of them, because i was feeling about adventures as i get!

They also have two other flavors which are just as good (Skinny Latte & Latte), but they also have other types which i would love to try!

I must say, i kind of got quite hyper after it, but it was nothing really, just a bit energetic!

So, they are £1.58 each, which i think is perfectly fine for "Starbucks" but there are loads of copies of the coffee and I've tried plenty of others for a lower price, so if you want...

I hope you liked this little bit of a lifestyle post, and if you want i'll try to do another next month!

Friday Favorite #8

Hello all, and we're soon to be on 2 digit numbers with my FF series! So today i thought i would choose something that i have been loving for almost 6 months now, and i feel like it should be noticed.

It is the "Hollister Crescent Bay - Body Spray" and on behalf of me and anyone else who has or gets this fragrance, thank you hollister for giving birth to an amazing creation! The smell is this lovely fruity, zingy scent and just floods summer memories. It reminds me of a tutti fruity flavour sweet! It includes watermelon in it, and i think that really gives it that summer hit.

I got this body spray when i was out with my friends, and i don't usually buy from places like hollister but when i smelt this i was just like...WOW! They also have other scents, which are just as nice, and they have a range for men and women.

If you don't already know, hollister is an Australian themed brand, and they sell clothes that are mostly aimed around `summer' and `beachy' aroma, which always makes me feel in such a summery mood, but anyway... i know some of my friends had the fragrance's from hollister, so i though why not try one?

They cost £11 each, which i know may seem like a bit of a rip off (that's what i thought) but turns out, that you get what you want for the money in which you pay. Me and my friends found a deal in the shop which was "3 for 20 something pounds" so we divided the price by three, and did that, so i only had to pay about £6-£8.

You can always find cheaper versions of the hollister spray, if you want, i'm sure there are just as fruity ones in places like superdrug, boots etc.

I hope you liked this Friday Favorite, and are enjoying my FF series. I have so many things planned for the future, which i can't wait to share with all of you! (By the way, thank you for so many followers on bloglovin, i appreciate it so much, and i wish i could send a bunch of thank you's to everyone who clicks on that follow button) :)

DIY: 3 Tips On Decorating Your Room

Hello all, and as you can tell by the title, i'm going to give you a little bit of help on how to decorate your room!
Me and my family have recently moved house, so that means new rooms, new furniture, new decoration. So i thought i would help you all with some tips on how to decorate your room!

My first tip would be...
"Be Wise Whilst Choosing Your Room Colour."
This is because, you don't want to be stuck with the colour blue, when you don't even like that! Buy some paint from the shops and get whatever colour you want, it will make you feel much happier in your room, and plus it will make it feel more like "your" room.

My second tip would be...
"Set A Theme"
Personally, it's much better when you have a theme because then everything is coordinated, meaning that when you get furniture to place in your room it looks organised and much more appealing. My brothers have a union jack theme; they have blue, red and white furniture and a union jack poster! Whereas i have gone for a more retro approach, with rustic styled posters/canvases (the above picture).
I L.O.V.E these so much! I love the style of it all,
and it creates a laid back feeling in my room!

My third tip would be...
"Go Decoration Crazy!"
This is my favorite tip, because it is basically what my room is. Even though it's cheesy, get inspirational quotes or little banners across your room (its these little things, that make a room complete.) For my birthday i was gifted quite a lot of posters and signs for my new room, and i loved it!

I hope you found my "DIY: Tips On Decorating Your Room" post helpful, and its never too late to change the way your bedroom looks, so go crazy!

Friday Favorite #7

Hello all, now its time for FF number 7 (HOORAY!)

This FF has probably been in one of my other posts, but that a good thing right, because it means i use the product loads, therefore i love it?

My Friday Favorite Number 7 is "Barry M Lip Gloss - Limited Edition". It comes in a glittery pink/coral colour, and i love these kind of shades, all the way!

One of the reasons i love this is it's AMAZING smell, its so sweet but isn't sickly. It hard to put my finger on what that sweet scent in (maybe a super sweet bubblegum?) and i don't know why, but it makes me go all hungry when i smell it, its almost edible?!?!

I got it from a friend as a Christmas present, and as it was part of a little set (it came with a deodorant), so i'm not sure if you can buy it by itself! I must say though, Barry M isn't well known for it's lip products, so for this to impress me, is a good move forward for them!

The only thing i would want to improve about this lip gloss is to tone down on the glitter, because i feel like sometimes you don't really need that extra "glittereness"!

GET IT HERE: (I chose the one closest to the one I've got, but mines limited edition, so you can't buy it separately)  http://www.superdrug.com/Barry-M/Barry-M-Lip-Gloss-Wand-Pastel-Pink/p/582344#.VDWl5fldU-A

Hope you enjoyed this Friday Favorite, and if you haven't already checked out my last post (DIY: Exam/Homework Help Box) then please go and do, because it was so much fun to make and i don't usually do DIY's, so if you like it then i'll one again!

DIY: Homework/Exam Helping Box

Hello all, and isn't this is unique post? So, with being in Year 10 now, GCSE has really given me a wake up to reality, and I've (just) started getting into the swing of things.

I thought I would make something which would help you all with revision, or homework, because i find, i struggle to time everything because you end up being a busy person, and then you forget. That isn't worth a detention, trust me!

So to make this box, you will need:

(And some Glue+A Pencil!)
Now For The Method:

1.Firstly, you want to get the A4 paper and place it into the bottom of the box, it doesn't matter if it goes up the sides, because we'll sort that out in the minute!

2.Next, you want to draw round the bottom of the box where the paper is. You then want to take the paper out of the box and cut it out where the pencil lines are, so that it fits in the bottom.

3. Then you want to stick the patterned paper onto the bottom, if you find there are bits where it looks scrappy, or too small, use some of the spare bits from the piece of paper from before.

4. This is an optional step, but you can use some stickers and decorate the box. I used some ones with animals on, and i also had some stickers with smiley faces because these make me happy!

5. Now you want to get another piece of paper, I used the same type of paper, but you don't have to, and fold the piece of paper in half, and cut 2 square holes (one should be bigger than the other).

6. Finally, cut up some paper into small rectangles and put any homework or revision you need doing ( I found it helped putting how long i would spend on each one). Then you put them in the box and shake it around and pull out one, and i guess that's the thing you'll do - "That's just the way the cookie crumbles!"

I really tried to do something different to what i normally do, and i am actually proud of making this little DIY up myself, so i would love it if you tried it out too!

I hope you enjoyed and i don't know about you...but I'm excited for HALLOWEEN! - I have a secret series for Halloween, which I'm so ecstatic for, check out my twitter for sneak peeks :https://twitter.com/xcharliexcx)

Friday Favorite #6

Hello all, and now we're on my 6th Friday Favorite, and I've got to say, i think its going well.

This is probably one of my favorite things to read ever, it is "Glamour Magazine". I'm sure you've heard me mention these magazines before, but i just had to include them in my FF series!

I get this magazine on a contract (i get one every month) and they're usually a month early (so i'll get Novembers in October), so i always have something to read!

Even though it isn't what my normal age group would read, it still consists of enough things that would tick my boxes for things i look in a magazine!

For £2.00, it has a massive amount of content in it, so its 100% worth all the money, i would recommend it to any girl who likes a good fashion mag!

It doesn't really have any gossipy sections in, but it does contain some story's, and interviews with people like: Taylor Swift, Rita Ora etc.

Even though, the fashion which is included is WAY out my price range, it does give my inspiration for the clothes, and some of my blog posts too. It sometimes includes vouchers for places like ASOS or topshop, or free samples (i once got a small clinique chubby stick) which i LOVE!

I hope you enjoyed reading this short and sweet FF ( i told you i wouldn't blab on with this one) and Glamour always have offers on they're contract so go check it out!

My After School/Night Routine | Autumn 2014

Hello all, and welcome to another post! Earlier this year i did a Morning School Routine, and i wanted to do another one of the Morning Routines for a different seasons, but instead i thought i would do something i haven't done yet, which is this. I have based this on a school day, so i guess you could say that it is an after school +  night routine all in one!

3.30pm - This is the time i usually get home from school, but sometimes i have an after school club, but I'm talking generally here. When i get back, i go up to my room and sort out all of my school books, and put all of my books for the next day in my bag.

3.35pm - When I'm finished doing that, i get changed out of my school uniform into something more comfy and then (like the responsible person i am) i do my homework which is usually in for the next day!

3:55pm - After when I've finished (well most of...) my homework, i like to go on my laptop and catch up on any YouTube, and start writing some blog posts!

4:30pm - By that time, i usually quite bored of my laptop, so i like to go and take my dogs with my brothers!

5:30pm - Next, it's food time! I eat tea with the family -yum-!

6:30pm - It's getting late now, so then i usually wash the dishes and then go upstairs and have my shower and wash my hair!

6:55pm - Now i feel refreshed, i go ahead and just comb through my hair and spritz some of my "Dove - Conditioning hair spritz" onto the ends of my hair. I also like to remove any makeup/dirt on my face by cleansing and using an eye makeup remover.

7:05pm - Then, i read a book, or my magazine just to calm me down a bit and/or listen to music! I always find this helps me to get to sleep better!

7:30pm - When I've finished reading, i like to catch up with some TV (a.k.a The Vampire Diaries) and get all cozy ready for bed! I like to put my Body Shop candle on just to make me feel that EXTRA relaxed!

8:30pm - After watching some TVD, i turn off the lights and go on twitter, snapchat, instagram, youtube, vine (on my phone) and busy myself.

10:00pm - I'm getting pretty tired by this time, and because its a school night :( , my mum or dad come up and tells me to go to sleep. (But i usually stay up a bit later doing random stuff on my phone!)

11:00pm - SLEEPPPPPPPPP

That is the end of this post, i hope you enjoyed reading about what i do in my boring afternoons!
If you'd like to see my "Morning School Routine" then I'll put the link here, but I'm going to tell you know, that post was about a year ago, and I've changed my morning ways a lot, so I'll be doing an update one near Christmas time.
